Mohawk Leaders
The Elementary Mohawk Leaders
The Mohawk 5th and 6th Grade Student Leadership Team is a dynamic group of students who truly embody what it means to lead with purpose. Selected through an application process, these leaders are chosen for their strong academics, positive behavior, and exemplary leadership qualities. They model the “Warrior Way” every day and serve as role models for our younger students.
Throughout the year, the Leadership Team plays a key role in organizing, supporting, and leading many school-wide events and initiatives. Their work includes:
-
Creating motivational testing videos and events
-
Hosting the annual food drive for Sycamore food pantry
-
Supporting the Developmental Disability Awareness month
-
Leading games at the Christmas assembly
-
Helping with Start With Hello Week, Homecoming Spirit Week, and holiday spirit days
-
Assisting with Trunk-or-Treat, Santa Shop, and Right to Read Week
-
Serving as ushers for events and reading mentors for younger students
-
Hosting staff appreciation activities
-
Assisting with PBIS events
-
Partnering and helping Mohawk PTO and Sunshine Committee
-
Sharing input on school projects, including new playground design proposals
-
presented at the OSBA Capital Conference in Columbus, OH.
Through these experiences, students build essential life skills such as communication, teamwork, responsibility, problem-solving, empathy, confidence, and service to others. Their maturity and dedication have been recognized at board meetings, where they have spoken with impressive poise and pride about their work.
This incredible group truly represents the heart of Mohawk Local Schools. As one quote reminds us, “When we give children the chance to lead, we show them that their voice matters – and that they have the power to make a difference.” Our student leaders prove this every day.
Kind Regards,
